FAQ's

ARENGETRAM

Students who have been learning for several years and have completed at least one full maargam (set of repertoire) are eligible to apply for their Arangetram. The teacher will assess whether the student is prepared to undertake the responsibility and be committed to the preparation process. For younger learners, it is advisable to pursue this between the ages of 13-16, as they are mature enough to manage the responsibility and the pieces, while not overwhelmed by other academic obligations.

Participation in an Arangetram is not mandatory, but it presents a distinctive and exceptional opportunity and is a significant achievement! Numerous dancers express that the preparation for their Arangetram taught them more than their entire journey in dance education prior. Completing your Arangetram paves the way for future performance and choreography opportunities. The majority of Indian dance students in the United States undertake this experience.
